I think the problem mostly with Pick Up Artists is one of beliefs. As they learn techniques or patterns they can use to pick up girls, they should also strive to better themselves as men. However, they still believe themselves to be unworthy, so they feel they need to “manipulate” girls into getting with them.
You can learn how a great man act so you can act like one, or you can learn how they act to understand them so you can become one. You can pretend to be a better man, or you can be a better man.
I think the problem with negs is that they come from the mindframe that you need to “put her down” to bring her down to your level, which means that you feel yourself inferior. Only inferior men want to bring other down to his level. Superior men see women as their equals, and treat them accordingly. A real man should tease, but never insult.
Well, perhaps by referring to pick up artists as a breed of men we are making out they are all the same. Of course this isn’t true, and whilst some might be playing the numbers game, others will be using PUA techniques to get over shyness and give them the opportunity to take the first steps to forging valid long-term relationships.
I have had friends that get blokes coming on to them all the time when they are out. I remember walking along behind a lady when a guy just came over and straight out asked her for sex!
Perhaps I’m too shy or polite, maybe both.
@Chris – I think there is nothing wrong with blokes chatting girls up when they’re out because that is natural human behaviour. But guys need to be more tuned into when and how to do it. That is how PUA can help them. I saw a David de Angelo video on Youtube where he got a couple of females on the stage who help guys in this matter. They basically said, “Look, if there is a huddle of women in deep conversation catching up on news with each other, forget about breaking into that group. But if a couple of girls are chatting but looking round the bar, drumming their fingers, checking out who is there, then they are the ones to think about approaching”.
As for a guy coming up and straight out asking for sex, that was done for a bet or he was drunk, or both. But on that subject, all the PUA guys tell their students not to drink if they expect to pick girls up. So these are two different groups of people we’re talking about – pick up artists on the one hand and piss artists on the other, lol.
